Sporting Life Preview

MEDINAS has a very decent record first-time up and could be the value against At Fishers Cross. Alan King's charge was second in this last year behind Tidal Bay and can reverse World Hurdle form with Rebecca Curtis' stayer, who will find the ground faster than ideal and will likely be a short price. Cole Harden showed improved form stepping up to 3m at Aintree in April, finishing second in a Grade 1 novice event. He's only a five-year-old so is no forlorn hope here if fully wound-up.

Oddschecker Verdict

A disappointing turnout for this Grade 2 contest but the one with the biggest smile could be Rebecca Curtis as her AT FISHERS CROSS looks banker material. The seven-year-old son of Oscar had some well documented problems early last season, but he did very little wrong in four starts since late January (placed in Grade 1 or Grade 2 company on each occasion) and is extremely well treated at these weights. If the favourite's old jumping frailties come back to haunt him or he is a long way short of peak fitness, the front-running Cole Harden might just be able to cling on. 2013 Coral Cup winner Medinas is certainly no mug but he might have to settle for third spot on this occasion.

Prediction: 1st At Fishers Cross, 2nd Cole Harden, 3rd Medinas
