Wolverhampton 18:50 Racecard and Betting Preview

Sporting Life Preview

The normally consistent Royal Trooper ran below par attempting 2m here last time but scored over track and trip before that. He beat Angus Glen, Harrison's Cave and DANCING PRIMO on that occasion but the latter re-opposes on much better terms today. Mark Brisbourne's mare has subsequently finished runner-up here and can end a long losing run. Cabuchon is closely matched with the selection on latest running but Giant Sequoia remains 6lb higher than his earlier win at Lingfield.

Oddschecker Verdict

ROYAL TROOPER failed to make any kind of impact when stepped up to an extended 2m last time but his previous form is rock-solid, including when running out a convincing winner over this C&D last month, and he is worth another chance back at this more suitable trip. Stablemate Dancing Primo gives the Mark Brisbourne yard a strong hand but the selection might have more to fear from Angus Glens if he can return to his best form.

Prediction: 1st Royal Trooper, 2nd Angus Glens, 3rd Dancing Primo
